Start of construction of the tailoring/home economics apprenticeship workshop

Some of you may have read about it in the newspaper. UgandaKids received funding approval from the Bavarian State Chancellery a few days ago. With the promised €49,999 in funding and the accumulated reserves, the financing of this second branch of the apprenticeship workshops has been secured, and the workers have been able to get project running. The construction crew, led by Israel Kawuka, has proven themselves and shown their commitment over the years, are taking on this new task.  The schedule calls for the shell construction to be completed by summer. For the interior work, as well as the purchase and transport of the necessary tools and materials a few more weeks of work can be calculated.

Towards the end of this year, the first apprentices will also be able to “grow up with prospects!”

Our thanks goes to the One World Network Bavaria and the Bavarian State Chancellery for making this tremendous support possible.
